Fingal County Council is launching the initial stage of public consultation in relation to a Local Area Plan for Kellystown, Dublin 15. The Local Area Plan (LAP) will consist of a written statement and maps setting out a land use strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area and guidance as to how development can be achieved, what new infrastructure is needed and where public and private resource inputs are required for development proposed in the LAP area. They are asking for Local input as it is considered vital to the LAP process and we value what you have to say. Find out more on the Fingal County Council Website.

The Longford Leader reported a public consultation on the preferred route for the N55 Athlone to Ballymahon road realignment. Members of the public will have the opportunity to make observations on the proposed route until Autumn, before the process of securing funding for the project will begin. Read the full article here

According to The Irish World, a new diaspora policy is to be debated in public meetings. A number of public meetings with the Irish community in the UK will be held across the country next month to help the Irish government devise a new diaspora policy. The meetings, the Irish government has said, will be a great opportunity for the Irish community in the UK to “have their say on how the government of Ireland can improve its support for, and connections with, the Irish diaspora”. Irish emigrant feedback and ideas will then be factored into Ireland’s new diaspora policy, expected to be published in 2020. Read the full article in The Irish World 

Dog control was on the list of subjects to discuss (on the show) but time ran over however; we will include it here and discuss it on the show next week. According to The Journal.ie, the Government has launched a public consultation process to review the measures currently in place for the control of dogs in Ireland. They are asking the public if Ireland needs to update its dog laws? The consultation, which started yesterday, will close on the 6th of September.. Read the full article here.
