PLACEengage, a Connemara-based placemaking platform that aims to revolutionise the public consultation sector through mixed and extended reality, has been announced as a founding member of Eirmersive, Ireland’s newest membership body for the immersive technology sector.

The establishment of Eirmersive as a membership body marks a significant step in Ireland’s journey to becoming a global leader in immersive technology solutions by 2028. PLACEengage’s innovative approach to community engagement through mixed reality aligns with Eirmersive’s mission to elevate Ireland’s position in the global immersive technology landscape.

The platform aims to transform traditional public consultation into an accessible, 24/7 virtual town hall that speeds up the delivery of critical housing developments. The mixed reality features enable communities to visualise proposed developments through their mobile devices, making complex planning information accessible regardless of language, literacy levels, or ability to attend physical meetings.

As a founding member, PLACEengage joins Eirmersive’s initiative to create and enhance partnerships across industry, academia, and government, supporting the organisation’s core values of community, leadership with integrity, and genuine collaboration. This partnership strengthens the growing ecosystem of Irish companies leveraging immersive technologies for social impact.
